Real Madrid secures their 32nd La-Liga title two matches to
spare in their hand following a straight 3-0 win against the Europa cup
finalist ten men Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao on Wednesday.
It’s the first title for the Madrid side since 2008. Although their arch-rival
Barcelona also manage to smash Malaga by a 4-1 margin at Nu-Camp just in the
previous match but Real Madrid is now clear untouchable seven points distance
with their arch-rival two matches already in their hands. Real is now 94 points
after 36th round while the Catalan side is in 87 points after 36th
round.
The match at the San Mames stadium
got off to a blistering start, with both sides pouring forward in search of a
goal. Real should have been ahead in the 12th minute of the game awarded
the penalty to the visitors due to handling the ball inside the box, Christano Ronaldo
could target only the safehands of the Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Irazizoz, who
managed to divert the ball over the crossbar.
Just after that penalty miss Argentine
forward Gonjalo Higuen scored the first goal following a through ball from the
German international Mesut Ozil in the 16th minute of the match.
Just after four minutes Mesut Ozil himself doubled the lead for Los Blancos
following a superb through ball form Christano Ronaldo. Christano Ronaldo
sealed the game & made the amends of his first half penalty miss by scoring
his first & team’s third goal on the 50th minute of the match.
Christano Ronaldo scores his 44th
league goal of the season, just two goals behind Lionel Messi’ record 46 goals.
On the other hand Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick against Malaga which made him
the first man to score 68 goals in a
season for Barcelona breaking the record of 67 in a single season by the German
Legend Gerd Mueller in 1972-13.
Real coach Jose Mourinho became the first
coach to win a domestic league in four different major countries following his two titles with in Portugal with
Porto, two in England with Chelsea, two in Italy with Inter Milan and now one
in Spain with Real Madrid.
