Churchill Brothers have won the I-League crown, playing out 1 all draw with Mohun Bagan.

Churchill Brothers became the I-League champion for second time, finishing their home encounter with Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan in 1 all stalemate at Tilak Maidan ,Vasco yesterday. Now with this draw Churchill Brothers reached to
insurmountable 52 points with one game to spare, beyond reach of other sides which keeps the holy grail of Indian football remains in Goa for another year  by washing out the dreams of Kolkata sides in the coast of river Mandovi.
Sabeeth put the Green & Maroons 1-0 ahead in the 26th minute of the game by an excellent solo effort, Sunil Chhetri equalized by a header for the Red Machines in the 71st minute of the game which ensures much needed one point for the hoemside but the goal is actually an own goal scored by Manish Bhargab due to poor clearance attempt following a centre from right side by Vinesh Balan, but referee awarded it to Chhetri’s name.
Odafa got a muscle pull in the 30th minute which forces Karim to substitute him with Manish Bhargab.
Rahim Nabi should have doubled the lead for the visitors in the 50th minute.
Everybody alongwith the Alemao family in the ground appeared to watch their second I-League triumph but
throughout the entire first half the visitors dominated the match the goal of Sabeeth actually silenced the entire crowd of the Tilak Maidan.
Bhowmik started with Beto in his first eleven but throughout his presence Beto remain off color so why he introduced Belal Arzou  in the place of  Beto, which actually becomes fruitful for the Goan side.
Subhas Bhowmik, the technical director of Churchill Brothers creates an incredible record of winning the I-League trophy with two different sides during his coaching tenure, notably he had won the crown twice for East Bengal back to
2002-03 & 2003-04 season & this year with Churchill.
He remains emotionless on the sideline while the entire team alongwith the entire crowd of the Tilak Maidan were busy with celebrating with the newly designed I-League trophy.
But the credit  hould be given to his name because from the middle of the tournament he has been missing two of his vital Lebanese players, he has patched up the damage by bringing the Afghan international Belal Rzou, who remained instrumental during his all appearances & Sunil Chhetri from Portugal who also provided an excellent service during his short term attachment with the club.
It’s party time in the Alemao mansion of Colava beach, the victory celebration & the felicitation of the footballers would be taken place on 16th May, the birthday of the elder brother of Alemao family Churchill Alemao.
