Manchester City clinches 1-0 win against their
city rival Manchester United at Ethihad Stadium, Manchester to retain their top
position in the EPL tally on goal difference only two matches to spare, Kompany
scored the solitary goal in the injury time of the first half. Right now both the sides are in 83 points after
36th round but only the goal difference are separating them, City scored 88
goals & conceded 27 goals only so the goal difference become 61 for City
while United scored 86 goals & conceded 33 goals which makes the goal
difference 53 for United. It would be very difficult task for Red Devils to
overcome City in the remaining two matches.
The hosts were in a
dominative mood from the very beginning in the match while the visitors were in
a see-saw mood, once it looked like that they visitors were in a bit of
defensive & sincere regarding their
first leg shame against the same side at home. The hosts started to utilize the
condition, started to take the entire control of the midfield. The Argentine
international Sergio Aguro missed two golden opportunities for the hosts in the first half of the game while the Korean
international Park-Ji- Sung skied a golden opportunity for the visitors in
the first half. Just after that miss of Park-Ji-Sung, City got a corner David
Silva took that from right, Rio Ferdinand makes the clearance, City got another
one, this time David Silva took an inswinging corner targeting Kompany,

Everybody expected a more
compact & aggresive Manchester United after the restart of the game, but
somewhere the agony of first leg were following them badly. United struggled to
find counter-attacking opportunities due to the nature of City's narrow and
congested midfield unit, leading Ferguson to introduce Danny Welbeck just
before the hour mark. While Mancini introduced Dutchman Nigel De Jong in
the place of Carlos Tevez & fit him into the position between Yaya Toure
& Gareth barry which gives muchmore solidity in City’s defence. United’s
counterattacks started to collapse in City’s defence. City got another chance in
the death of the second half while Gael Clichy was denied by De Gea from the
edge of the box.
Its all about ups & downs for both
the city rivals since last two months, once it was looked that City pocket the
crown then the Red Devils woke up, they increase the margin between City &
them in 8 points, almost made the crown in their fore, but poor performances of
Man U in last few matches give City another opportunity & they grabbed it.
