It was all about Messimania in Nou-Camp lastnight, Indian side will start their campaign in AFC Challenge Cup 2012 against Tajikistan tomorrow.


           There were two matches of UEFA Champions League round of sixteen second leg lastnight.It was all about Messimania  in Nou-Camp, Barcelona lastnight, the German side Bayern Leverkusen were well hammered by the Spanish giant Barcelona in their home Nou-Camp lastnight in a hectic 1-7 margin.  Barcelona became through to the quarter final in a 10-2 aggregate. In an another match at GSP Stadium, Nicosia the Cyprus side Apoel  became through to the quarters by defeating the French side Lyon in a tie-breaker shoot-out.
           
           Latnight it was all about Lionel Messi  storm in front of Barca’s homecrowd at Nou-Camp against the German Side Bayern Lverkusen, alongwith a hat-trick  5 goals out of 7 scored by Messi alone, it’s an alltime record in UEFA Champions League competitions to score 5 goals in a single match,  he scored goals in 25th, 42nd, 49th, 58th & 84th minute of the game, the rest of the goals scored by the newcomer  Tello in 56th & 62nd minute of the game. Bellarbi scored the only consolation goal for the visitors in the injury time of the second half. Barca already had a healthy lead of 3-1 according to the first leg, with this win in Nou-Camp finally the aggregate became 10-2 in fore of the hosts, the dream of German side became over. Bayern Leverkusen coach India origin Bengali Robin Dutt told in pressmeet that they had to succumb in front of Lionel Messi, their defence didn’t have any answer for preventing Messi. In quarter final Barca will take on the Cyprus side Apoel.
          
              Meanwhile in another match in Cyprus capital Nicosia the Cyprus side Apoel won their home match against Lyon in a penalty shoot-out & became through to the next round where they will face the mighty Barcelona. Apoel is the first team from Cyprus to qualify till the quarter final stage of UEFA Champions league. In schedule time the hosts had the 1-0 lead, but they also had a deficit of 1 goal according to the first leg, it means overall the aggregate became 1 all, so the match went to the tie-breaker following extra-time, where the hosts won the match 4-3 margin in shoot-out.
 
         Indian side will start their campaign in AFC Challenge Cup 2012 against Tajikistan tomorrow at the Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu.  Indian coach Savio Medera told they will try their best to retain their position in this tournament, captain Sunil Chhetri told that apart form winning they are not thinking about anything else for tomorrow’s tie.
